Desktop Computer Cases
When choosing your computer, it is very important to pick from a list of strong and sturdy desktop computer cases. As obvious as this may sound, you will need a good case in order to protect your more delicate pieces of equipment… like your motherboard, cpu, hard drives, etc. Without this protection, these components run the risk of being damaged from heat, water and dust. The following tips should help you in picking one out:
Tip #1: Size Is Important
In the future you may want to add other pieces of hardware to your computer… so depending on how much you want to add, you will want choose from desktop computer cases that allow for the appropriate expansion. You don’t want to have a computer case that is crammed with a bunch of stuff, so consider your options carefully.
Tip #2: Style And Design
There are basically two designs for desktop computer cases: Flat cases and Towers. Towers seem to be the design that most people choose nowadays and usually come in 3 different sizes… Full Tower, Mid Tower, and Mini Tower. Of course, there are pros and cons to these designs. The Full Tower can store a lot of component and the extra space give plenty of room for easy maintenance as opposed to the mini tower units… but they can take up a good amount of room in your office area. For the most part, a larger percentage of users pick a Mid Tower case.
Tip #3: Always Remember Your Mother (Board)
The motherboard is the single most important factor when considering the size of desktop computer cases, so you must make sure that the case you choose is compatible with the design of your motherboard. Keep in mind that if and when you plan on upgrading and adding hardware to your PC, you don’t want to sacrifice much space… especially in around your motherboard.
Tip #4: Picking The Right Brand
So which brand has the best desktop computer cases? Well, it’s really a toss up between Dell and HP. Both have strong, tank-like shells that can last well into the millennium. Both brands are sealed pretty tight too. Let’s face it, sooner or later, someone (usually a little one with a “sippy cup”) is going to spill orange juice or milk on your PC… you want something that is really water-resistant. Also, ease of access is a big factor too. You want a case that is not only air-tight, but easy to get into when necessary. Dell and HP both fit these criteria.
Hey thanks for the tips, I would have never thought about making sure that I chose the right computer case size for my desktop computer package. I figure they were all standard.
